Thanks to Reiner messing around with the Weird Mirror Tree, an opt-in AU Event will be occuring from November 3rd-10th.

WHAT HAPPENS

Characters are hit by ~weird mirror magic~ and transformed into an alternate version of themselves.

This can be any type of AU. Canon AUs, player-made AUs, CRAUs, Coffee Shop AUs, whatever. The sky is the limit!

Characters can be hit with several different AUs.

Characters cannot gain new powers from these AUs. However, they can gain new clothes or non-magical items.

How will I know when the event starts?
I will post a log for it on November 3rd. You don't have to play in that log, but please wait for it to be posted before digging in.

What is the "weird mirror magic"?
Magic that bounces between mirrors/reflections. Characters can get hit when looking into a mirror, or when the magic is traveling between mirrors. So nowhere is really "safe," and it's easy for anyone to participate.

Quick question. Could an AU of their Ellipsa memories be done. Like a thought experiment of if character A came into the game as an AU, how would their relationship with character B turn out if that was the case during their full in game time together?

So one is an AU from their canon and the other is an AU from just the Ellipsa timeline, if that makes any sense.

Characters can't gain new powers but what if they have canon powers they haven't unlocked this early UNLESS it's following the events of the AU?

Like with Ishkode, he gets elemental and spirit magics in his story but I brought him here before he learned about them. In the AU I'm thinking of he would have been taught about them from a young age.

So like... he'd technically have them while he was in that AU but they'd vanish again when the event was over. Can he have them that way? Or would he find they're weirdly gone somehow instead?

AU Ideas: So this is great timing bc Gintama's just started airing a spin-off anime for Ginpachi-sensei. He started as a silly little joke to answer reader questions and such, and then there was a novel, and now they've decided to run with it. So I'll probably bring him out for a spin!

AU Ideas: I have entirely too many ideas lkjalksjdf so would love to see what interests folks the most!!

• CRAU: A 22-year-old lowkey unhinged Reiner with a year of Intense Wilderness Survival in a post-apocalyptic winter wasteland under his belt. Emotionally dead inside except when it comes to one (1) person.
  
• Soldier AU: An AU in which Reiner never betrayed Paradis and forgot he was a Warrior. Comes with a boatload of repressed/distorted memories.
  
• Android AU: A Detroit: Become Human AU with the serial numbers filed off. Reiner is an android in Marley's military, but he's begun to "malfunction" and develop feelings.
  
• Dark Academia AU: In which he's a college student with a Dark Secret™. (Murder. The secret is murder.)
  
• Crime AU: A modern AU which Reiner is a hitman working for a criminal organization, but he's torn about taking down his current target.
  
• Hunger Games AU: Reiner is a Victor who has to train Tributes for their games. Comes with a lot of trauma (obviously) and some ~dangerous feelings~ for other Victors.
  
• Disney Prince AU: Complete with singing and searching for his Princess.

Season: Summer
AU Ideas: Throwing out a bunch because I can't decide on one yet.
-Canonswap AU with someone else? Harder with the stipulation of no new powers, but it could be doable.
-Idol AU. Her canon's already idol-adjacent and people keep assuming she's one anyway.
-AUs inspired by some of her canon's event costumes, such as warrior-type magical girl, monstergirl, Western, cafe, or unrepresented canons. Some of these may be harder than others with the stipulation of no AU powers, but yolo.
-I've never played Rinku in another game, but fake CRAU from another genre might be fun.

Character Name: Levi Ackerman
Season: Winter
AU Ideas:

- (Canon) School Castes AU. From a jokey mini-segment at the end of AoT volumes. Basically he's just a guy (an ex-gang leader turned janitor).

- (Canon) The Ripper AU. Tested this one out during the bubble event! Basically a younger version of Levi who never ended up brought to the surface by the SC and ended up sort of falling into Kenny's footsteps more as result. Depending how hard we want to go with this, he could just be a bit colder and more short-tempered, but ultimately still a decent person, or he could actually be slitting MP throats down there.

- (Canon) Marley AU. Good old side/role swap. Since the Marleyans do seem to have some knowledge about Ackermans, he'd likely be trained from early on and probably serve as a special guard detail or field support for the Warriors, or bodyguard for important higher-ups.

- Assassin's Creed AU. He'd make a pretty good one I think! PARKOUR

- Hunger Games AU. Lowkey Haymitch with less alcoholism problems. Most likely a mentor, a previous victor, who lost everyone as result.

- Post-Apocalypse AU. Likely a survivor trying to lead and/or protect a group that wouldn't have the best chances otherwise, like kids, or a lone hermit that's way too prepared for everything and has almost forgotten how to speak to another human.

- Gintama AU. He'd suddenly know about modern stuff, break the fourth wall and complain about character overlap with Hijikata! I'd most likely make him a Yato since the fit is just too perfect, which means he'd be stronger and more prone to get carried away in his berserk mode oop i totally missed the no new powers bit. he'll be grumpy about being "weaker" but he's still got ackerstrength so... He still gets the sunlight weakness though, as a treat! He'll get a cool umbrella upon change but please cover him with a tarp if he passes out on the street.

Character Name: Katsura Kotarou
Season: Autumn

AU Ideas:

- (Canon) Be Forever Yorozuya AU: this is a canon movie AU where Katsura nearly turns into the main villain of the first half of the series. He's failed to protect (almost) everything important to him and decides that in that case he might as well watch everything go down in flames. Granted the fact that Gintoki is ingame should mitigate a lot of this, but I'd still be down for other characters stopping him from uhhh /checks smudged writing on hand/ blowing up various transport stations because he thinks he's limiting the spread of a plague.

- (Canon) Ginpachi-sensei AU: He's just a guy! Who's basically the same except instead of a rebel leader he's now the class president, because of course he is. Also very passionate about saving the whales.

- Angel/Demon AU/CRAU: What if I got him those fluffy duck angel wings he had back in Little Hades, what then. He'd likely be one of those nerdy by the book angels that is however capable of learning better (or worse, depending how you look at it).

- Avatar AU: healer waterbender Katsura, need I say more-- Alternatively he could be the designated non-bender that's good with tech!

- Disney AU: He's the princess surrounded by small woodland animals 100%.

Syo Kurusu (Route 29 -> Holly Heights CRAU) | Uta no Prince-sama {Games}/Syo's Route

AU Ideas:
because lbr there's no way Syo can ICly go without looking in mirrors during ALL these days even if its Opt-In-

Kaoru AU: Syo accidentally gets turned into Kaoru Kurusu, Syo's younger twin brother by like some minutes/hours idekk its never officiallyTM said. Only Syo possibly Ren idek how Ren here thinks of it!!1! knows how Syo ""looks"" {dresses} different from Kaoru ICly; everyone else might think "huh, is this guy a doctor or something??" because he'd probably transform into "Kaoru" that Syo remembers/Knows of when Kaoru was in a doctor's coat.
Maybe he's able to gain some of Kaoru's extra medical items ""from home"" {the AU} that can help in other Plots later
(or later help Syo's own self??)
Bonus: In between, Ringo the Shiny Ditto from Syo's Route 29 CRAU accidentally takes on Kaoru's form TOO, except Ringo transforms into Kaoru wearing a STARISH outfit-that-never-happens-in-any-Utapri-universe. Maybe they'll accidentally broadcast a fresher video during this time. Ringo may or may not be able to speak human at first, but as it goes on can probably learn to "Mimic" it quite quickly.

STARISH AU/Animeverse AU {with Ellipsa memories so far}: Syo is wearing the original stage outfit from their "Maji Love 1000" performance. Nothing else much changes, but Syo does suddenly start having Starish' entire discography filtering through mind maybe?! Later on goes into ultra-focused mode trying to copy what Syo can note down that's notable before forgetting it all, at least until Ren clues Syo in that Ren can teach him the rest of what Syo may forget. For now Syo will at least try to note what "Syo" learnt while performing those songs in anime AU and over time. Or maybe Syo can learn{+remember*??} something new...
* This would depend on if the knowledge gained can be kept after event too

Shining Live AUs: I don't want to take up space listing out every single one that appealed to me,
but if you remember a particular SL AU involving Syo or relevant to that you'd like to try, let me know!!
{Personally one of my top favorites was "Light of the Desert" / "Desert Sea" AU
involving Natsuki [+later Syo] performing too along with Masato & Ai Mikaze;
Ai wouldn't be able to be there, but this one might be hard to play out unless
I also use it for one of Syo's Network or Log posts... }

"Snow King" AU {/""Winter Segment"" AU}: This one I can list/probably play out more specifically however. A canon rewrite based on the "Snow King" performance that Syo put on along with Tokiya and the Player character (aka Haruka); Syo plays the role of "Young Man Person" and either Syo or Tokiya could eventually gain Haruka's affections when the Player helps them regain their original memories, but here things can be kept overall platonic too. In the meantime, Syo will be pretty confused/acting pretty lethargic after his enthusiastic showing earlier on the Network; why are you even approaching him in this icy barren snow castle that just sprung up out of nowhere???
{ later on in the AU the "Young Man"!Syo gets more involved with playing with the snow+Player {aka Haruka/"You" stand-in}, so that can be tried here too~ }

Syoko/Femme AU: Syo gets transformed into Cute ""GirlTM"" look that Syo maintains while crossdressing for work,
except in the "Syoko" outfit instead of "Yui" outfit.

Not!"Heart Condition Relapse" AU: Syo starts feeling the heart condition/palpitations again when out and about. Angst and/or fluff {or both+Angst-with-eventual-Happy-ending} could happen, but be prepared for Syo's anxieties surrounding this because it's you know... an originally life-threatening heart condition.
Maybe he could collapse in your arms or you find him passed out in the city/streets??

Spirit AU: Your name is Syo Kurusu and you're ""dead"". Somehow Syo has become a yokai/spirit/ghost that can now travel in any direction (or through your walls) for a short time period; meanwhile Syo absolutely freaks out about this internally most of the time until he finds your character and?? Or otherwise, Syo will be hiding most of the time to try and not freak you out. Syo's only gotten to meet a couple of handful of characters so far, so Syo would probably be "meeting" yours for the first time; feel free to drop details about your character, have them muse to themselves around him or about their worries etcetc. Maybe Syo can help you out somehow wow this form can be useful actually...!!

Angel AU: This one is also inspired by "Chords of Atonement" from Shining Live, but Syo won't be an exact 1:1 to that performance or character. Basically Syo in Angel outfit with Angel wings, or a more stripped-down angel outfit. At one point gets to fly around more freely than as yokai but often hiding while in angel form.
* Can somehow be combined with or connected into any of above relevant AUs.
Maybe Syo turns into angel form later on in the day??

Satsuki AU: Syo transforms into ""Satsuki"" for perhaps the remainder of the duration of the day, complete with accidental Satsuki's strength levels. After initially likely freaking out your character by looks alone, Syo asks you to keep this quiet; he's just going to remain at home the rest of the day but seriously, he's feeling fine!! Maybe can maintain Satsuki's speed/agility but might use it to try and run away from you??? maybe Syo can run to one of the arenas where singing as Satsuki is possible... Putting the replacement glasses back on, that Syo brought in as a regain item, doesn't seem to have much effect at first but... maybe there's something Syo has to realize about Satsuki {+Natsuki} before changing back??
* Maybe possible to have Natsuki's viola and Syo can try playing on it, but songs will have a different/unique "sound" than just on violin alone.

Character Name: Setsu
Season: Spring
AU Ideas: Setsu's canon is a space sci-fi. Setsu's backstory is that their late parents were soldiers, and so they attended a military academy, became a soldier, and then reached the rank of lieutenant by 18. Things only went downhill from there.

That being the case, new art has given us: Normal high school student Setsu! The same "way too serious" person, but now a normal student on the Disciplinary Committee with the same complete lack of knowledge about normal things like movies. The idea is just cute to me, and Setsu having less canon (and CRAU) baggage feels like it could be interesting for starting and continuing CR.

They'll also sometimes have a tiny Mist (turnipstar) in their jacket pocket, like a Ghibli movie. ✨

I have also belated decided to indulge my love for Etrian Odyssey, so Setsu will also get a fantasy RPG adventurer AU! They will be an Etrian Odyssey IV Landsknecht, which is essentially a swordsman. Knowing Etrian Odyssey isn't needed ofc, but if anyone wanted to AU into Etrian Odyssey with them, I'd be very up for that!

STELLARON HUNTER AU



Basically, the gist of this is that Stelle never joined the Astral Express and stayed with the Stellaron Hunters as a part of their group and is considered a wanted criminal of sorts. Personality-wise, Stelle is essentially the same and still goes out of her way to do good things when she can, but also recognizes that they have to do bad things for the greater good.

Also, this iteration of Stelle believes wholeheartedly that everything is fated, absolutely destined.

AU Ideas:

Cardverse AU: in this canon art-based AU, Kiku portrays the Queen of Hearts, representing the Kingdom of Hearts. Kiku would be in Cardverse outfit genuinely believing self to be the Queen; CRAU memories will have been temporarily messed with upon arrival?
* also may or may not view self as married to/engaged to Ludwig/Germany here, your preference honestly.
There can be small CRAU here involved from Amat Omnes since Kiku and Ludwig were also starting InvolvedTM Friends with Benefits except both with light Feelings there, and Kiku might be subconsciously remembering all that

Kitsune AU: Kiku transforms into a "kitsune"!
But doesn't have their wild magical abilities, just looks extremely cute and has a super fluffy tail.
Might act more mischievous in this form but not outright devious?

World Stars Gangsta AU: Kiku's CRAU memories could also be locked away here; and Kiku meets you for the first time genuinely believing he's from a world that solves all disputes using card games, but has an epic-looking outfit that could maybe/hopefully be regained for later.
Also a purple hair streak and the katana will be on for show too yup.

HetaOni {+RomaHeta side relevant} inspired AU: Not literally 1:1 to HetaOni, but.
{aka} {KIKU stop "forgetting" to loCK THE DOORS BEHIND Youuu--} in which Kiku may or may not be a {"side???"} horror RPG protagonist
also causing ""timeloops"" to happen but they won't be as literal here,
more could act like as if they've already been looped/Kiku believes them to have happened?--
Kiku subconsciously believes self to be Error!Kiku, or an {seemingly} "artificial intelligence"-like {non-human} form,
but could initially speak to you as if Kiku's the real Japan with Japan's memories.
Maybe a creepy mansion-like area could appear out of nowhere that your character could explore/find stuff in?
Bonus: expect creepy aliens and/or otherwise enemy monsters if aliens can or may not be akin to America's "Tony"??

Hetalia Fox Tales AU: I'm probably the only one that knows this fangame meanwhile but :') :') Slightly different concepts from HetaOni; still takes place in a mansion {literally located in Japan, that Japan can visit/initially use} that feels "haunted". Numerous kitsune with different color fur that are actually powerful, dangerous enemies roam the mansion and maybe you have to complete a certain task {+involving or not "saved spaces" of the "Tales"}- to escape them??
In this AU (a good visual reference of important events is this fanmade MMD, contains some endgame story spoilers, blood, general horror{/rpg-esque} tropes, at one point implied beheading but might not be as it seems etc.)
Kiku is secretly the Black Fox/kitsune with black fur instead of the usual white.
Probably wearing a more intricate black kimono rather than the uniform

Britannia Angel canon-based AU: basically Kiku in England's Britannia Angel outfit but as an own AU.
Has a "magic wand" (basically just stick with yellow star on end) equally akin to England's and might be able to cause some accidental shenanigans in own embarrassment and attempts to change back.
Would probably keep most of memories/CRAUs here??

Nyotalia AU: The basic gender shenanigans canon AU. Can be actual Femme!Japan or Kiku presenting as Femme!Japan, with or without canon point memories/CRAU memories.

Heian era AU: Kiku gets to wear a Heian era-like set +kimono (akin to that MMD model). Probably will act initially extremely modest yet tries to hide away playing Go or maybe you can try to drag him out of hiding--

Yokai AU: Like {Syo} above, basically any of the above could also be combined into a Yokai!Kiku AU that Kiku needs to find some way "out" of.
Would have all CRAU memories back after this event if not also during, most likely.

(Basically any of these could probably be picked in Kiku's intro post to the Network or in an intro log,
so let me know what sounds fun or throw ideas at me if you'd like to try some CR!!)

AU Ideas: I'm tempted to follow my fellow Gintamas' example and AU him into the Ginpachi-sensei spin-off series - that is to say, make him a regular, modern-day high schooler who's on the disciplinary committee and the baseball team. A total normie...

There are additional options, though!! In merchandise and canon AUs, he's been a bottle-blond host, a woman, a bullboyman, various youkai (crow tengu, oni, kappa), an angel, a devil, and much more... and I'm up for AUing him into other characters' canon (or a different one that they're getting AU'd into), too!

AU Ideas:

I just have one and it's

Ozymandias Alter, basically instead of being an incarnation of the Sun God Ra, he takes features from the opposite of Ra; Apophis the ancient Egyptian deity of the underworld who embodied darkness and disorder. Basically he will be "dark" version of Ozymandias currently, having snake like-features and just a generally darker in personality.

AU Ideas:

(Canon) Military Police AU. Very basic. Instead of joining the Survey Corps he joined the Military Police. Either the flavor of became a corrupted cop who just lazes around all day, actually doing something useful on his time or being mentored by freaking Kenny the Ripper. Many ~flavors~. Would likely gain either a Military Police Uniform or not so fancy parts of the anti-personnel maneuvear gear as a treat.

(Canon) Dead in Trost. This Jean died instead of Marco, but under the same circumstances.

Proper Werewolf AU. In which he's a proper werewolf and has been for most of his life and even has more wolf-like features even outside full moon.

Forgotten Tales CRAU. Memories from a game this Jean hasn't been in where he literally had to live as the Beast from Beauty and the beast with every rose petal that fell bringing on yet another change in his body. Also he had a castle and living, moving furniture. Fun times. He also comes with a quirk of "Whenever Jean sees his reflection on something he wants to destroy whatever it is".

From the point he would be from he would have ram horns, lion ears and wolf tail.. and a neat little ponytail. He will have a rose and if it loses petals he will undergo some more changes.

Might keep his cape as a souvenir of this bizarre event.


Dangaronpa AU: Mukuro's Military Partner, the Ultimate Army Medic, who also infiltrates Hope's Peak as the ... Ultimate Cowboy. Part of the Ultimate Despair. Fun times.

Ok but what if we doubled up on the Ripper AU somehow... they could either end up as allies or rivals or a whole other sort of mentorship situation-- (EDIT: or if Levi never joined the SC maybe Kenny would be recruiting him instead. Want a secret mission Jean--)

AU Ideas:

I'm between two ideas right now!!

Quirkless AU where Katsuki was the one born without a Quirk and Deku was born with one. He's about ten times more angry and bitter at life and a bit more buff because he decided he'd get strong without a Quirk. Of course, it wasn't enough for him to get into U.A so he gets even MORE angry and decides to follow in his mom's footsteps and put all his focus into working at her job and being the best in the field. Which... is interior design. So now he's also snobby about architecture and decor--

The fun part about Quirkless AU is that I'm letting him keep Katsuki's Quirk and also his Winter powers (though he gets to have a normal right arm rather than keep the robot one bc that would just be too confusing for him to deal with). So he'll be WAY excited to be here and mess around with them and try to be a real ass Hero which will be very cute!!! And also fun to play with!!!

The other idea I have is Reaper AU where he's AU'd into the same universe that Chipp and Louis are from!! I know the universe pretty damn well since I'm related to the one who made it and I also want an excuse to colour Katsuki with the palette from their world... I'd make a handful of icons to imbed in tags!! As a reaper, he'd be a lot more insane and have less morals than he does in canon and probably be hyperfixated on fighting and seeing who has the guts and power to defeat him in battle. I love characters that just are stupid meatheads who want to fight and I just feel like this is Correct for Reaper!Katsuki.

I also want to offer a BNHA AU WORKSHOP for anyone who might want to AU their characters into the Hero universe!! You'd get a Quirk which is a super power that's completely biological and has the kind of realistic limits you'd expect from that kind of power (for example: katsuki sweats nitroglycerin and explodes it out of his hands and he has recoil from his explosions like a gun. if he does too many for too long, his arms cramp and are EXTREMELY painful and can even burst tendons and muscles if he pushes it too far) AND characters also get to have a cool Hero Name and Hero Costume!! They also can go to Hero school and be a Hero-in-training if they're a teen and if they're an adult, they can be a Pro Hero! (or a Villain in either case!!)

I plan on having Katsuki only affected for a little while so he has time to also react to other people and their AUs, so he can also react to anyone that's AU'd into his universe if people want that :3c (sal is brand new so im not having him affected by any aus so he's just here to witness the chaos)

Basically, an au/what if that. He didn't get chosen to be All Might's protege. Instead, he is still stubbornly determined to be a hero/help them somehow. Even without a Quirk. So, I'm basically figuring it's something along the lines of focusing more on tech/support gear? More along the lines of Batman? But he would prob be the one studying and making his gear because lol he does not have Wayne money. Something like All Might's armor/suit would prob be a Goal for him, lbr.

....and he will absolutely frak himself up upon discovering his 'new' Quirk if I went that route.

It wouldn't affect his Quirk with this, but. Basically, an au of him continuing to stubbornly work on his own. If his classmates weren't able to drag him back to the dorms and support him. Just trying to push through and still feeling like he has to go at this alone because he knows he is a target, and he can't let anyone else get involved/hurt because of him. Still has the same end-goal of defeating All For One, but. Yeah. Probably gradually getting more desperate and frustrated with the escaped criminals, he tries to question.

Crystal Exarch. While not an actual AU, but it's an AU of "what if G'raha arrived straight from the First", before the Warrior of Light and others got dragged there in Shadowbringers.

He's not as powerful without the Crystal Tower to back him up, but he's ... mysterious :> Definitely not G'raha.

AU Ideas:

I have ONE BIG ONE that I've had on my brain for AGES with Ishkode and would looooooove to get to explore a bit here!

It's a K/DA|KPDH 'fighting idol' style AU!

I got the idea right when KPDH first came out because everyone was talking about it and how cool it was and everything. Cause it brought me right back to when POP/STARS was the new thing and how damned much I loved that whole idea/AU/aesthetic. It made me go back and watch the music video again and all in an instant I was hit with how much Akali was giving me BIG Ishkode vibes.

Next thing I knew I was drawing him in something a lot like her outfit, wielding dual hockey sticks (heheh I'm a little corny) and I fell completely in love with the idea of him being either being part of a pop/rock group who's singing/music empowers them so they can protect the world or even just on his own with the same thing.

Ishkode's powers in his canon (when he gets them when he's older) are actually augmented by his singing and dancing so the whole AU just worked and fit him well.

But I wanted to put it here in case someone got an idea of plot things with an AU like this? Especially since we have so much of the KPDH cast and other characters that are from music/idol style games.

AU Ideas: Yuuto will be CRAU'ed into his own canon. Starsand AU Yuuto is more confident in himself and has a stronger understanding of friendship. His 'Distortion' is more stable as a result. He's also had a major mindset change and is in the process of giving up on being human, but I'm sure no one ever expected him to be smart.
