It looks like Reiner and Hijikata will be choosing the same new powers (if Reiner does go with electricity - but even if not, guardian spirit + new element)! Perhaps they can test their new abilities out together. Since the Paths incident Hijikata has pretty much been out of the loop with the AoT cast (except Jean), so let's see how they interact after both having taken the Rumbling whammy (with extra Bertholdt death news on Reiner's end)!
