arts festival plotting!!
Hi everyone!
This is an OOC plotting post for the Arts Festival that Ayaka and Kaveh talked about a couple of weeks back on the network!
So far:
- No date yet, but it will be towards the end of April! Putting this up as early as now bc icly the characters need to prep, too!
- The festival will not be a very big event just yet, seeing as they've all just arrived and the people who live in Ellipsa are still a little wary of everyone. It will be held at a private open area in Amberfall, with a covered court/ hall for exhibits, and will be a 2-day event. Think a babby con!
- The festival will be advertised in various media channels, and there will be an early bird sale for the tickets. At the end of the festival, we'll draw 1-5 winners from the pool of the early bird ticket buyers!! (Depending on the number of early birds) Prize to be determined, but the early bird sale is to generate funds, and as such, will have an incentive from our organisers.
- Ayaka will be contacting the characters who have expressed interest in helping out with organising. Generally, the crew will be split under the two main organisersβ Ayaka for sponsorships, events, and talents (participants and performers), while Kaveh is in-charge of the venue logistics, decor, food, and other stalls like shops and whatnot. Please comment here if your character would like to join the organising committee!
- Those who commented to the network post and expressed interest in showcasing their art will also be sent a formal invitation! Feel free to handwave Ayaka sending a message to your characters asking for their address so she can send a written invitation inviting them to the festival, and asking for their commitment/ confirmation if they will be participating. Characters who didn't comment to the post and would be interested are more than free to sign up to this post, and we can handwave the invitation, too. For group performers/ exhibitors, just one comment will do!
For now, and to give way to possible future player-run things, this arts festival will feature performing arts (music, dance, theatre), visual arts (painting, drawing, design and crafts, architecture, etc), and literary arts (poetry and other written works).
To make things official, or if your character would like to share their talents, comment here!
- ICly, the arts festival will be advertised as a means of introducing otherworlders to Ellipsa. Various talent scouts will be invited to the festival thanks to Connections, so feel free to write about your character possibly being discovered here! Participants and performers will have a talent fee, those who will put up food stalls can keep whatever money they make, and organisers will also be compensated for their efforts. Dawn and Sawyer will be sponsoring what Ayaka needs to make this happen!
- The festival will be called something along the lines of "Creation: The Leaf of the Light Crimson Maple" (bc ofc it has to be Poetic) theme of the festival will be Seasons, with a focus on Fall, as it will be held in Amberfall. Feel free to have your character come up with ideas for their exhibit, performance, food stall, etc that's related to the theme! :D Should there be other festivals in the future, the locations for it may go around the city to focus on other seasons, too.
